As we are only bordering the “buffer” zone, malaria is not really a problem but precaution is always better than cure!
Clothing
Swim shorts and a T-shirt for the river and SUNBLOCK as it gets as the african sun is severe in the summer. A hat and shoes that can't come off while taking a nice swim! Some dry clothes and a towel for when you get back from your trip.
Directions
FROM JOHANNESBURG AND PRETORIA
Take the N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria, past Witbank and Middelburg to Belfast. Turn onto the R540 to Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Take the R36 to Ohrigstad, Strijdom Tunnel and Abel Erasmus Pass onto the R527 towards Hoedspruit but turn right (at the Reptile Park) onto the R531 Acornhoek road and turn to the right at the sign board to Swadini. Fnb, Absa, Standard Bank, but they're all at least 15km from our premesis - so be prepared!
Nearest Town / Petrol station
Hoedspruit about 30km from our office. Other towns close by, Phalaborwa, Hazyview and Tzaneen. Nearest petrol station is 9km from our camp, but it's not always in a working condition; so be prepared to drive at least 20 more kilometers!
Shops
Hoedspruit has evrything you really need. And there are two small convenience shops close by.
Hospitals
Private Hospitals-Tzaneen, Nelspruit. Private EMS services provided to us by Africa SAFE-T so we're always prepared
Medical assistance
Africa Safe-T with excellent doctors and paramedics are always just a phone call away.
