Upper Blyde white water rafting

ImageThe Blyde Canyon, the third biggest canyon and
the largest vegetated canyon in the world, is one
of the best white water sections in South Africa, with
a difficulty grading of Class 3-4. The canyon is an un-spoilt wilderness area with spectacular scenery. Rapids range from steep pool-drops to long, technical rapids.

A day trip can take anything from 5-8 hours, depending on the experience of the paddlers and size of the group. An overnight trip is also available, where paddlers sleep at our sister company the Blyde Adventure Camp which is set on the banks of the Lower Blyde river and nestled in riverine forset on the foot of the Northern escarpment.

A must for the experienced paddler.  Please note that this river is very technical and that previous paddling experience is preffered.  Novices are welcome, but please let us know if you've never paddled before so we may advise you on the various rivers we take trips out on.
